想当年，个子矮小、其貌不扬的杨德财还只是一个进城务工人员，不过凭着辛苦努力，他最终成为某房地产公司的老板，身价过亿。然而许是过于专注事业，又许是他的外貌实在不甚出众，杨德财这些年来一直是孤家寡人，光棍一根儿。未免乡下的老母亲担心，他始终骗母亲自己早已结婚。某天，老太太执意要进城来见见这个儿媳妇，这可急坏了杨德财。 正所谓病急乱投医，杨德财无奈之下找到了婚姻介绍所。老板王承恩见钱眼开，当即命令手下的爱将刘盈袖亲自操办此事。隐瞒了身份的杨德财，在相亲过程中着实闹出了不少的笑话……。The film is a dramatic re-enactment of real-life events that took place in 1968 in the small village of San Miguel Canoa in Puebla, México.
