本片改编自同名朗读剧，讲述了乡下小村庄的少年们一到18岁就会被告知一件事，那就是在这个村子出生的男孩一生中只能使用一次魔法，但是必须在20岁之前的2年期间使用。村子里的成年男子在过去对什么事使用了魔法，在他们使用魔法之前是不可能知道的。主人公等4名高中男生开始思考要对什么使用魔法…。《神探可伦坡》第十二季共由以下三部组成： 1、It's All in the Game：由主演Peter Falk亲自编剧，并指定Faye Dunaway出演与其对决的女嫌疑人； 2、Butterfly in Shades of Grey：曾在NBC版第六季之Fade in to Murder出演凶手的William Shatner再度回归出演凶手，本集编剧Peter S.
