Through it all, friendship is the cornerstone for surviving this time of life – whether one’s puberty...。高级警官华岂伦（陈小春饰）奉命调查此案，他出人意料地选了即将退休又胆小怕死的老警察介叔（柯受良饰）做他的搭档。其实介叔以前也很勇猛，他的两个干儿子晓泰（古天乐饰）和子年（谢天华饰）也是警察，当年三人同在旺角警署工作，号称“旺角三鹰”，但后来不知怎么子年殉职，晓泰坐牢，介叔也日渐消沉。。玩笑开过头的托马斯（约瑟夫·梅 Joseph May 配音）不小心将高登的车厢撞脱了轨道，为了惩罚托马斯，胖总管将他分配到多多岛的的另一端工作，与新朋友莱恩（埃迪·雷德梅恩 Eddie Redmayne 配音）一起建造新的火车支线。托马斯为重新展示自己是有用的火车，在新铁路上行走时未有留意危险告示，结果坠落裂缝的地洞，竟发现传说中的海盗船，并与水手约翰（约翰·赫特 John Hurt 配音）和帆船斯基夫（杰米·坎贝尔·鲍尔 Jamie Campbell Bower 配音）结伴，在多多岛展开紧张刺激的寻宝之旅……。
