Our planet is surrounded by hundreds of millions of pieces of junk moving at 17,000 miles...。解放前夕，甘肃裕明油田，老工人周师傅（张冲霄饰）为了保护油井，死在了敌人枪口下，儿子周挺杉（张连文饰）含泪接过红袖标，率工人护油井，迎接解放军接管油田。解放后，周挺杉加入了共产党，在党组织号召下，和千千万万石油工人进军大庆，誓言为祖国开发大油田，华程（李仁堂饰）为代表的上级领导和专家章易之围绕在哪儿打井，条件具备不具备等产生分歧，而周挺杉则坚定站在华程一边，发出了“有条件要上，没有条件创造条件也要上”的豪迈壮语，他们把天当被地当床，本着“少活二十年，拚命也要拿下大油田”当作人生座佑铭，揪出了隐藏的敌人冯超（刘国祥饰），提前为中国摘掉了贫油的帽子......。
