大明宫是大唐帝国的王宫。它既是当时世界上规模最为宏大、规制最为严整、规划最具特色的宫殿群；也是中华文化与世界文明的交融点和对外传播的动力中心。公元896年，大明宫毁于兵火。纪录片《大明宫》让一千余年前中国历史上最繁华荣光的时期——盛唐，以前所未有的清晰影像呈现于观众面前。。Restoration carried out by the National Museum of Singapore and the World Cinema Foundation. In association with the Konfiden Foundation and Kineforum Jakarta Arts Council. The film was restored from the original print kept at the Indonesian Cinematheque.
